Pillow Talk

A pillow may seem like a little thing in life, but it can have a big impact on the quality of your day.

I am one of those people that need ten hours of sleep. As well, I have a long neck and suffer from migraines so my pillow is really important. I even take it with me when I travel to ensure I get a great sleep.

However, on a recent trip to an unchained hotel in the middle of the country I found pillow utopia.  The plumpest, fluffiest, softest, supportive pillow ever, encased in cool crisp white linen. Day after day, for over a week, the pillow was returned to lofty perfection each morning.  A pillow that does not mat down when you lay on it struck me as amazing.  Both my husband and I commented on the comfort of those beautiful pillows.Pillows At Forty Five

When I returned home, my previously perfect pillow was decidedly NOT.  So I took to Google to see if I could find out what pillow the hotel used.  It’s just startling what you can find on the net. The very supplier of those prized pillows was less than 20 minutes from my home.

They were not inexpensive. We had never contemplated paying so much for a pillow. My husband and I went back and forth making the case for what to us was an extravagant expenditure. At our age, I think we have earned some perks in life was my thinking. Having trouble sleeping increases with age, so we are just investing in sleep insurance he chimed in.  Considering we spend thirty three percent of our life sleeping and the pillow lasts years the ROI (return on investment) would satisfy any number cruncher.

So we ordered them, along with the pillow protectors and a set of those crisp linen pillowcases.  We crawl into bed each night and remark on our comfortable pillows. They are absolutely wonderful and one of the best investments in “us” yet.

Spoil yourself and try them out.  I can guarantee you will be sold on the comfort. Even your insomnia will feel better.
