Two Weeks Into Everything Being Different.

Now that we are two weeks into different, I am sure that you, like me, have moments that freak you out.

Different At Forty FiveThe worries creep in, or we have too much time on our hands. I will admit I am making my 5th macramé plant hanger.

This is the new normal for now. Like it or not, this is it, and now we have to navigate it. You may be figuring out what works and what doesn’t – I know that I am. Now we have all this time (oh how we wished for more time).

There are always things to do when it comes to business, yet it may be a challenge to get motivated to do it.

Vacuuming the cat tree may have more of an appeal than sitting at your computer and doing the projects you want to do. Why is this? They are things that you want to do or have to do, yet the call to do other things is strong. I know so far this morning I have cleaned the bathrooms, picked up in the boys’ bedrooms, found a recipe to make for dinner and updated all the computers.

Now I am just sitting down to do some work.

Different At Forty FiveIt’s ok – there are no rules here, and you can do what you want when you want. So many of us have a very set out way to do things; you work during the day, hang with family/friends in the evening. Our routines have been set for a long time, and now that has all changed. You have all this time set out in front of you and there is no reason you have to work in the morning and then do the other stuff. For some, this works, and for others, it freaks you out. Depending on you – you can either put a schedule in place so you feel good or you can go with the flow.

Think you might let go of the schedule? Then, make a list of what needs to be done or what you want to get done and then keep that handy. It is really easy to fall down the rabbit hole of not working when you don’t have a structure.

It is also a really good time to do a bit of work on the business vs in the business. Have a look at your why your vision and mission. When is the last time you had a chance to do that? This is where the motivation will come from – so if you need some motivation, get to it!
