When I visit my favorite Szechuan restaurant everyone raves about this dish. It took some experimenting but I have finally come close. This dish makes a delicious attractive side and the bonus is it is ready in minutes with minimal calories.
Vegetarian Szechuan Green Beans
1 lb green beans
1 T olive oil
1 T sesame oil
1 clove finely chopped garlic
1 inch fresh ginger sliced
1 T sambal oelek or Chinese chili oil (available in your local supermarket)
In a hot pan, saute oil, garlic, and ginger over medium heat. When soft, throw in tipped beans, stirring occasionally. You want them to brown slightly. Then toss with chili oil and serve.
