Traveling For Work? Find The Feeling of Home and Opportunities To Rejuvenate

Travel At Forty Five

I’m always searching for that location that allows you to relax and feel at home after a day’s work. In a fast-paced business life hotels quickly become the norm.  It is wonderful to have an option to explore your new found neighborhood, even if it’s just for the evening.

home At Forty FiveMy recent visit to Edmonton had me searching for accommodations that replicated the bustle of the inner city. I uncovered The Metterra. It’s nestled on Whyte Ave. the prominent artery through Edmonton on the south side of the river.  To me, Whyte Avenue represents the diversity of Edmonton.

Visit Block 1912 and enjoy a Lavender Fog. As the slight sweetness enhances the floral, pungent taste of lavender and warms you on a brisk Alberta evening sit and enjoy the brick interior coffee shop and the baked goods it has to offer.

Trade Busy For Calm

Leave the city traffic behind you. You’ll know you’re there when you’re eyes focus on an open spot of reserved parking on one of the busiest streets in YEG.  All that is required of you is to signal into the “valet” parking.  From there, the staff of the Metterra takes over.

Exit your vehicle and whisk your belongings quickly into your “residence” for the evening.    They understand the stresses of a busy day and offer a complimentary wine tasting with h’orderves to begin the relaxation transformation for the evening.  Choose from a white or red variety and enjoy the company of friends or cohorts while watching the evening city unfold on the walks in front.

Everything is within walking distance bars, restaurants, shops and boutiques for blocks.  For those more adventurous complimentary bicycles are available.  Enjoy the mapped out paths in the adjoining river valley in any season. Brochures boast distances for amateur and avid cyclists.

In the morning a breakfast buffet awaits or take in the fitness facilities on the second floor.  Poised, you are ready to face the day.  The sounds and sights of the wonderful Edmonton morning greet you as you exit the glass doors. The experience allows you the calm of home and the adrenaline of experiencing a new city.

The Metterra, it’s my choice because they understand the work-life balance.
